Sarah Jane Rossiter 1934 Death claimed at the week-end an other very well respected
district citizen, Mrs. Sarah Jane Rossiter, of
Eumungerie, who. died at her home early on Sunday morning,
at the comparatively early age of 66 years. The
funeral took place on Monday. Messrs C. J. Shakespeare
and Sons directing the obsequies, which started from Holy

At the age of 66 years, Mrs. Sarah Jane Rossiter, passed away early on Sunday morning, at her home at Eumungerie. Deceased was a native of Mudgee, and was married at Dubbo 40 years ago. Her last days were saddened by a long and painful illness, from which death was a merciful relief. Two sons survive, Stanley and Alfred, both of whom are residents of Eumungerie. The remains were brought to Dubbo, on Sunday afternoon, the funeral leaving from Holy Trinity on Monday morning. Owing to the wet weather, many Eumungerie people were unable to at tend the obsequies conducted by Rev. C. W. Leavers, in the Church of Eng land section of Dubbo Cemetery. Among the many floral tributes were wreaths from the Eumungerie Cricket,Tennis and Old Time Social Clubs. C. J. Shakespeare & Sons carried out the funeral. Dubbo Liberal 24th July 1934
William Richards 1941 The death occurred on Monday night at a private hospital at
Manly, of Mr. William Richards, a well-known farmer of Netherby, Eumungerie.
Deceased, who was 76 years of age, lived in Victoria prior to going to Eumungerie,
where he carried on farm pursuits successfully. A few years ago he retired and
went to Dee Why to reside. His wife predeceased him in 1934, and surviving
members of the family, six sons, are William, Edward, Harold, Reuben, Walter
and Arthur (Eumungerie). The remains were conveyed to Dubbo on Tuesday morning

Joe Ross 1919 CASE OF SUICIDE The police at Giigandra received a report on Thursday last to the effect that, the dead body of man known by the name of Joe Ross had been found in a tent near Balladoran. It transpires that deceased had been working for a fencing contract for a settler, near the holding of Mr. P. M. Maclnnes, "Baroona," and lived in a tent near his work. One of his mates went to the tent, and found his dead body. A coronial inquiry revealed the fact that the unfortunate man had committed suicide by taking strychnine. Ellen Jane Richards 1934 LAID TO REST IN DUBBO CEMETERY 'A good mother, a big-hearted woman and a generous soul in all church charity and community efforts,' was part of the sincere tribute paid to the memory of Mrs. Richards, wife of Mr. William Richards, of 'Netherby,' Eumungerie, whose death was recorded in Thursday's issue, and whose funeral took place in the afternoon of that day to Dubbo cemetery. A short service was held in the Methodist Church, when the Rev. A. C. Towner, who came in from Gilgandra especially for the funeral, had the assistance of the Rev. J. Wadkin, of Dubbo. He spoke in sincere apprecia tion of the many fine qualities of the deceased lady. Bom at Campbellfield (near Melbourne), Mrs. Richards, with her husband and care, came to Curlewls, where they lived on the land for 18 years be fore moving to Eumungerie, where they lived for seven years. There were six sons in the family, all well-known in their different parts. The first and second sons, William, of Narromine, and Edward (Eumungerie), with the two youngest, Walter (South Brisbane) and Arthur (Eumungerie) acted as pall-bearers. Reuben, of Kempsey, was present at the funeral, but Harold, of Marrickville, could not get back home in time. After long suffering, the deceased lady passed peacefully away, her deathbeing regretted by all who knew her. Shakespeare and Sons attended to the mortuary arrangements. Keith Ralph 1913 On Wednesday evening the nine-months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph, of Eumungerie, died from the effects of convulsions. The remains were laid to rest in the Dubbo cemetery yesterday evening. Widespread sympathy is felt for the parents in their sad bereavement.
