George John Thompson 1953 The death occurred at the Dubbo Base Hospital on Saturday of an old and highly respected resident of Dubbo and the Eumungerie district in the person of Mr George John Thompson, at the age of 81 years. The late Mr. Thompson was well-known in district farming and grazing circles, his property "Caledonia," being one of the picked properties in the Eumungerie district. He was born at Terang (Victoria), and had been in the Eumungerie district for the past 37 years, where he was highly respected. In addition to his wife, the late Mr. Thompson is survived by one son, Mr. Allen Thompson, of "Caledonia" and two daughters — Jean (Mrs. Chas. Godwin, Mogriguy), and Rita Mrs. Stewart McLennan, Eumungerie). The funeral left St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church at 5 o'clock on Sunday afternoon, Rev. E. E. Chapman officiating at the church and graveside, interment being made in the Presbyterian portion of the Dubbo Cemetery. Gilgandra Weekly 8th January 1953
Dorothy Caroline Triplett 1952 The death occurred suddenly in the Dubbo Base Hospital on Saturday of Mrs. Dorothy Caroline Triplett of Eumungerie. Born at Mittagong, deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Smith, of Eumungerie. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Reginald Triplett, and two children, Robin and Leo. Sydney Alfred Tripp 1916 A SHARE FARMER'S SUICIDE. A Sufferer from Ill-Health Sydney Alfred Tripp, a share farmer, residing at Eumungerie, committed suicide last Friday morning by placing the barrel of a shot gun against his head, and pulling the trigger by means of a stung attached to his foot. He was sixty, three years of age, and leaves a wife and eight children. At the inquest a verdict of suicide, while suffering from ill-health, was returned. The Farmer and Settler 1916
SUICIDE NEAR EUMUNGERIE A shocking discovery was made in the woolshed belonging to MT. C. W. Brown, at "Branston," near Eumungerie, early yesterday morning, when the body of a man of middle-age, named Sidney Tripp, was discovered lying on the floor with a bullet wound in the head. A recently discharged gun was found lying near by, with a piece of string attached, one end to the trigger and the other to one of the feet of tho corpse. An inquiry was subsequently held at Gilgandra, and a verdict returned that deceased came to his end by suicide while mentally aberrated. During the forenoon a telephone mess age was received from Emungerie by the Rev. L. Dawson Thomas, requesting him to break the sad news to the relatives of the deceased who resided in Dubbo.
